Mathanmi Hungyo grew up in a Manipur rid with conflict. His childhood and teenage years was about surviving PTSD , a direct result of the armed conflict and ethnic violence
He was privileged like very few in the region to achieve a Masters from Delhi School of Social Work and further work with communities and development organizations like SEWA Delhi, CES, APDP-Kashmir.
His childhood experiences, learning at Masters and the time he spent in Kashmir to understand other communities that have suffered due to conflict all in different measures pushed his desire to work for the problems of the region he came from.
He launched RREA with a dream that every child of the region has access to a quality education and a safe space to grow. This realization and passion led to RREA Journey.
His interest areas other than Education are Livelihood, Sports, Farming, and Indigenous Community Knowledge.
Rohit, completed his Masters in Social Work from Delhi School of Social Work, Delhi University.
Masters in Social Work transformed his life drastically and had a huge impact on his career path. Since his days in college and as a professional, he worked with Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP) in the field of Education and Child Protection.
At GoodWeave India he was a Program Officer on Child Labor and Education for 2 years.
With his passion for Alternative Education, Social Entrepreneurship and Sports For Development; a specialization in Peace and Conflict Mitigation and the friendship he had built with Mathanmi during the Masters he was motivated to intervene in the North East – a region where the need is very high.
He has joined RREA with a long term vision for the region and is excited to begin at the early stage of implementation of RREA’s Education Program.
Akham Romilla is an Advocate practising in High Court of Manipur.
She has completed her B.A.L.L.B. and L.L.M. Her interest lies in policy making and law. She has earlier been worked in rural development for a short period of time as a part of Tata Trusts and Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation initiative called, Zila Swachh Bharat Perak program. She is a part of a book donation initiative for school children in rural areas. She writes poems and paints in her free time.
Nawal has worked in restoring demilitarised zone (Tosa Maidan) Kashmir in terms of Education, community driven rural tourism and sustainable livelihood. She has also worked in the field of Human rights and social development in Kashmir, Manipur and Delhi, both in rural and urban setting.
She is also an independent researcher and humanitarian photographer with experience in Arts and Conflict, Security studies, Refugee and Narrative based studies.
Nawal has completed her masters in International Relation from South East Asian University.
